Helpful Bear Productions' Creature Design Contest

Helpful Bear Productions' Creature Design Contest

Find out how you can have your work critiqued by Terryl Whitlatch and featured in ImagineFX magazine

Calling all artists: Helpful Bear Productions is holding a contest to find the best creature designs. And its offering a stack of amazing prizes to the winner ...

The winning entry receives a one-on-one Skype critique with judge Terryl Whitlatch and a hardcover edition of her book Animals Real and Imagined (signed and personalised with hand-drawn creatures).

The winner will also be featured in issue 106 of ImagineFX. So, what is Terryl looking for?

“Originality is most important,” she says, “followed by good anatomy and believability.”

You can enter through Facebook, by posting your design directly to the event page. And on Twitter, using the hashtag #Helpy (the name of HBP's mascot).

All submissions will be reviewed by both Terryl and the HBP team. You’re free to use any medium and software, including 3D programs. All work must have been created in 2013, or especially for the competition. Find out more on Facebook

Deadline is 1 January 2014.
